How to avoid the flu

Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.

Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C.

Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.

Walk for at least hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around.

Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible.

Get plenty of rest.

Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

OR ... You can take the doctors office approach. Think about it, when you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol. Why?

Because alcohol kills germs.

So...... I walk to the liquor store (exercise), I put lime in my Corona (fruit), orange juice in my vodka (Vitamin C), celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), drink it on the patio (fresh air), get drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) and then pass out (rest). If you keep your alcohol levels up flu germs can't get you!!!!

How To Avoid The Flu

Stay away from sick people...Sorry I had to. My wife brings it home from the hospital every year.

If you kept your alcohol level up as Gypsy suggests then your wife wouldn't come home. Therefore you would not get the flu. Thus the theory still holds.

Have officially come down with, The Flu. This is a rare occurence for me as I have a very hper-active immune system, but here we are!

Oh yes, the fond memories of soaking through your sheets, and nightclothes to where, (and ya'll know this is true,) you have to hobble back into bed ON TOP of the covers, and just get more freakin' blankets, so you can stay warm and dry, until the next fever hits and breaks...wow, such great memories!

Last three days:

Times attempted to go to and acutally be in class in this week...(This includes hot morning showers to "rev-up, and shake-it-off!) = 3

Food= 0

There-a-Flu-wanna be cold medicine doses that do not work= 2 cups total ounces

Laundry loads of sheets and pj's that have been done = 4

Staying home today and being on PS.com today = Priceless

And then there is the old standby...Hot Todday, with Tea and Whisky! If all else fails soon, I nmight try it!

Screw the tea.

For a real hot toddy get yourself some hot water, pour into a large coffee cup about 3/4 up, add a very healthy shot of Whiskey (Irish preferably) and add a little bit of sweetner (sugar or equal, whatever) If you have a clove or two add that too. (do not ingest the clove)

This is the best thing a person could drink. Even when you're not sick.

Hope you feel better.

Been drinking cranberry juice mixed with Absolut Citron each evening until passed out.
It's been working wonderfully!

(Actually, I've switched back to drinking Guinness, so maybe a little extra habanero Tabasco on my eggs each day should cover the veggie and vitamin C angle.)

Big Teddy,

Hahaha! Agreed, but the flavors of the hot tea infuse well, IMHO.

Thanks 550----Airborne? Pm me....

Here is to hoping that none of the members of PS get this nasty stuff...it just makes your head fuzzy, and you find yourself thinking weird things!

(But no, going to visit a gas chamber is not one of them... )
