Olympic Arms Ends Sales To New York

And yet another firearms builder does the right thing:

Olympic Arms says...

"Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States."

When I was growing up in New York my parents were good friends with a retired civil intel guy, we ended up talking quite a bit and learned he was an attorney. Mr. Goldsmith told me that he'd fought for the gun makers (and won) because the bereft were suing them in the late seventies when a criminal used one of their weapons.

Same old BS, just a different incursion vector and pretext

It's about time more companies and folks forsake those whom wish to impose their own values over our fundamental rights as law abiding Americans.

vaya con dios

I know their lead sales guy. He got me my 40cal pistol upper for my favorite AR SBR. Awesome people, and I am glad they stand behind their beliefs. If I owned a company, I'd do the same thing. Why pay tax revenue to someone who preys on your company's products? Screw them. Same reason I no longer travel to NY to visit the mall there. I refuse to put myself in a position where I may be arrested for CCW, even though I have the 50 state LEO permit. They obviously do not need my tax revenue either. I recommend everyone speak with their wallets.

This clinches the new 45 cal upper I was thinking about buying from Oly...

Finally, I believe that punishing lawful gun owners by creating new, more onerous laws, and restricting Constitutionally guaranteed rights, when we already don't enforce the tens of thousands of gun laws we have on the books, is like beating your dog because the neighbor's dog shit in your yard.
