The UK is such a peaceful and harmonious place since they banned firearms...

Police have revealed the chilling array of deadly weapons they seized in just four months - including a crossbow and a traditional samurai sword.

The fearsome arsenal, which even includes a gold-plated axe, was put on display yesterday by West Midlands Police as part of a new anti-weapons campaign.

Other dangerous arms featured in the grim haul are nunchuks, knuckle dusters, a giant flick knife and crude planks of wood with nails hammered into them.

Alot of those are just kitchen knives. I guess the UK isn't happy until they have taken away every means of defense from the public. Criminals can do what they want, however.

So if all of those countries have 100% gun bans what are they using to kill each other? Can you imagine how low are per 100,000 rate would be if we would only ban guns?

This statement is false. Just off the top of my head, I recognized half a dozen countries on that list that allow civilian handgun ownership. I suspect there are many more that allow gun ownership.

The unodc.org stats for homicide by firearm are pretty interesting -especially Brazil! U.S. rates appear to be declining. Probably in correlation to the number of concealed weapons permits issued.

Isn't the big push in Britain to get rid of all pointy blades? Kitchen knives should have rounded points and so-forth?
