Sandy Hook Copycat threatens LA... Judge releases

Sounds like the DA wants to have another shooting. Threaten a girl/spouse, they take your guns. Threaten a kindergarten, they let you go...

http://www.tmz.com/2013/01/08/sandy-...rrest-threats/

The 24-year-old man who threatened to commit Sandy Hook type crimes in L.A. claimed he was hell-bent on leaving "dead kindergartners" in his wake ... yet he will not be prosecuted.

Kyle Bangayan posted threats on Facebook the same day as the Newtown shooting ... and claimed he was targeting L.A. schools ... this according to a search warrant obtained by TMZ.

Kyle allegedly wrote, "No really America, if you post one more Facebook post about the shooting at that elementary school, I swear to whatever f**king god you believe in that I will do the same goddamn thing."

The rant continues, "I have the guns, I have the incentive, and I won't commit suicide at the end, I'll just go to the next f**king school and the next and the next ..."

And he goes on ... "So I woke up this morning and said to myself ... Dang you know [what] would be really awesome right now ... some dead kindergarteners ... and Christmas early."

Kyle was arrested in L.A. after a tipster told the LAPD about the online threats -- and when cops searched his bedroom (at his parents house) they found six semi-auto handguns, two rifles and one shotgun.

Now for the kicker. Kyle was released and the L.A. County D.A. said no charges would be filed, because the threats were not specific.

A little unsettling .... don't you think?

Probably, now. In the Daryl Gates days they would track the guy after release. The Gang unit used to observe gang funerals and identify the guy chosen to retaliate and followed him. Now I think they just send flowers.

Those threats seemed quite specific to me. What more did the judge need? Did he expect that nutcase to single out the kids by seat occupied in their classroom, rather than clothes hanger or favourite crayon brand? Goddammit, I just don't get it...

Some people talk shit all the time but never do anything. Maybe this became an issue of the DA/Judge thinking he won't do it, that's he's just full of shit.

Sure the guy should be under surveillance for a little while, but I would worry about our freedom of speech if every shit talker or internet troll were to be prosecuted for what was said.

Interesting statement there. Some people talk shit for a short time and then follow through with it. Some people talk shit for a long time and then follow through with it.

example 1

example 2

example 3 - what happens when parents give a damn.

I can only hope that the judge made an informed decision, and I can only hope that he is right and the accused was making idle threats. Is a judge qualified to ascertain such things? Is a psychiatrist? We know that we, as a country, are currently second guessing how we handle mental health. I think that this topic might generate some thoughtful discourse.

This sort of crap happens all the time. So many felons walk on a regular basis or don't do any real time. There is not much deterrence for crime in the People's Republic of Kalifornia anymore and we arrest the same people, over and over. Kalifornia's reaction: make more laws and take away things from law abiding citizens.

I guess face book is not admissible in court! He was just exercising his 1st amendment rights!

But in order to keep the public safe let’s just take ALL the guns away so we don’t have to infringe on your 1st amendment right to talk smack!
