I don't like it.. My two points - No ballistic protection and seem like no Cargo room in the rear. With IEDs and Mines being a focual point for teh last ten years, I wonder why they went with this style. I can understand the roll out the back of the ramp, but no real protection. I like that you can fight from it!! Must meet some mission requeriments.
Current MRAPs you really can't fight from them. You see Units sitting inside with the CROWS gunner doing all the shooting, no dismounts getting after the emeny. MRAPs are great for Blast protection, but people like sitting inside of them.

I was also wondering why it does not have much protection. But further down in the article it says that it has been engineered with several fully enclosed armored solutions in mind. I would like to see a prototype that has this option. As it sits right now it looks like a side by side on steroids!

If I may submit a question to the QPs,
Is this the priority equipment need for Special Forces? I understand niche it looks to fill, but with budgets always a concern where does this prototype fit into hierarchy of necessity?
Thank you for entertaining the query.

My only question is where does the ammo, additional SAWs and 240s for REAL protection, sniper systems, mortar, night vision, food, and water fit on that vehicle? Looks like they put a couple of rucks on the back...WOW!

I love the second Pic.. Now that's funny..
OFF TOPIC........Sad point is Groups laugh at guys asking for pack animal and horse training. We asked as our team for going into Afghanistan because of where we are located. Pack animals are key movement. Had a Guy in El Paso that would take us up to the Mountains and do a 2 or 4 day training, we wanted a week 95-7 days) with night (NVG) riding and shooting from horse back too. Great training and very nice area in the New Mexico Mountains north of Bliss.
"You guys are crazy, why you need this training"
