2012 MLB League Championships and World Series

I felt compelled to start this thread after the Yankees were SWEPT by Detroit.... (Did I say SWEPT....yes...yes... 4-0 ENDEX )

(The only thing better than the Red Sox winning is the Yankees losing)

So as we await the other half of the dance card for the Series it will be interesting to see New York's actions over the post-season... Being taken to 5 by Baltimore (who wasn't "supposed" to be there) and the super-nova of their star power was fun to watch (not the injury part...but the failure to perform when the chips were down).

Thinking the Series to be a battle in the Midwest....

The only team I dislike more than the Yankees is the Red Sox. Especially this year as they chalked 90 losses with a payroll over a quarter of a billion this year. They made 1965 look good.
As for teams that "aren't 'supposed' to be there" well... Do it a couple of years and you'll get used to it. We have in St Louis.

Go Cards!!!

I hope my Motor City Kitties are well rested before winning the World Series against whoever shows up.

Their offense had been fairly inconsistent until yesterday afternoon, but their pitching has been phenomenal! (Valverde excepted - he has his own "Valverde sucks forum")

I believe we'll get the Cardinals in the series. That excites me, and scares me at the same time. Would love a little payback against St Louis, but the Cardinals seem to have that Rasputin quality to them this year.

For me the series is going on right now, 2 teams who play BASEBALL. I have too much respect for Cards' mojo and Dozer to indulge in whistlin' past the graveyard, so lookin' back:

Dozer, you musta made the call - I thought I saw a little Whitey ball out there last night...

Intel: During prez debates amateur radio operators are still on & HF is busy at night 'cause nobody ultimately believes for a second that a debate alone will swing the outcome. Last night in the flippin' ionosphere you coulda heard a pin drop. They were watching BASEBALL.

It was crazy at AT&T Park and at Willie Mays Plaza at the end of the game. Looks like our days off will be cancelled for the World Series.
