Black Christians Leaving Democratic Party

Amen. Bishop Jackson founded S.T.A.N.D, Staying True to America's National Destiny. Their mission statement:

Quote:
STAND is a national organization dedicated to preserving life, the traditional family and our Judeo-Christian history and values as the Foundation of our Constitution and culture; preserving America as a Constitutional Republic with a federal government of limited and enumerated powers; preserving free enterprise as the best system for distribution of goods and services; maintaining American economic and military preeminence; and promoting the vision of “one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”

This sho0uld be the message coming out of ALL churches, not just black churches. I have long wondered how Christians could vote for the planks of the Democrat party (Since it's inception) and live within their souls. From slavery to Jim Crow to welfare and abortion.

1860 Plank
Quote:
The Democrat platform of the 1860′s was a pro-slavery policy that sought to keep those bound in the disgusting practice of human bondage to another. They fought to keep it in exsisting states and actually fought to force its spread to states that were either anti slavery or sought statehood in the Union and did not the practice of slavery.
1865–1964
Quote:
During the Reconstruction period of 1865–1877, federal law provided civil rights protection in the U.S. South for freedmen – the African Americans who had formerly been slaves. In the 1870s, Democrats gradually regained power in the Southern legislatures, sometimes as a result of elections in which paramilitary groups intimidated opponents, attacking blacks or preventing them from voting.
KKK
Quote:
Historian Eric Foner observed:

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.
Civil Rights Movement
Quote:
A little known fact of history involves the heavy opposition to the civil rights movement by several prominent Democrats. Similar historical neglect is given to the important role Republicans played in supporting the civil rights movement. A calculation of 26 major civil rights votes from 1933 through the 1960's civil rights era shows that Republicans favored civil rights in approximately 96% of the votes, whereas the Democrats opposed them in 80% of the votes! These facts are often intentionally overlooked by the left wing Democrats for obvious reasons. In some cases, the Democrats have told flat out lies about their shameful record during the civil rights movement.
Welfare=Slavery?
Quote:
South Carolina senator William J. Grayson Nullifier Party (Later absorbed by Democrat Party) arguing for slavery in 1856's, "The Hireling and the Slave":

"Slavery is that system of labour which exchanges subsistence for work, which secures a life-maintenance from the master to the slave, and gives a life-labour from the slave to the master. The slave is an apprentice for life, and owes his labour to his master; the master owes support, during life, to the slave. ... Slavery makes all work, and it ensures homes, food and clothing for all. It permits no ideless, and it provides for sickness, infancy and old age. ...

This is the whole system substantially."

Gents, lets keep this thread clean. It's ok to disagree and debate, but keep it clean.

After spending trillions of dollars on the poor over the last 50 years, you would think that someone would notice that the percentage of people in poverty has not been reduced. I would expect black Christians to be the first to notice that there is the intention to use them as pawns, and they should rightly resent that.

The success of the US depends on everyone having the opportunity to better themselves economically. When government policies hinder, or even worse, work to encourage sloth, trouble will result when the money runs out.

What is the basis of this expectation?

Do you have experience and/or knowledge IRT the beliefs or practices of "black Christians"?

If you don't, is it appropriate to have expectations based upon assumptions alone?

And why do you suppose that is?

I don't expect black Christians to be any different in moral outlook than any group of Christians. The correlation of single parent family to poverty rate is well known. From a Christian morals point of view, government policies that work counter to keeping families intact and the creation of strong families would meet with disapproval.

If--for the sake of argument--one were to postulate that a Christian is a Christian is a Christian, then why bring race into your analysis?

Thumbs up I like the message he sends out...

A-fucking-LOT!

The Democratic party reminds me of "crack" cocaine; once they hook you with all the freebies (welfare & etc.), it's hard too kick the habit, they become lazy and folks will stand by them no matter what they do because, it becomes an addiction.

Stay safe.

Other than the title of this thread .....

Race is only relevant in that the Democratic Party routinely gets 90% + of the black vote. This may be the start of a trend that makes this voting block less monolithic. For example, Republicans typically get 20% to 45% of the Hispanic vote depending on location and candidates.
