Feds Warn Anarchists Could Use Acid-Filled Eggs to Protest
Watch out for the purple eggs!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012...gs-to-protest/
Federal authorities are urging law enforcement agencies across the country to watch out for signs that extremists might be planning to wreak havoc at the upcoming political conventions -- by blocking roads, shutting down transit systems and even employing what were described as acid-filled eggs.
The warning came in a joint FBI-Department of Homeland Security bulletin issued Wednesday.
The bulletin specifically warned about a group of anarchists from New York City who could be planning to travel to the convention sites to disrupt the events by blockading bridges.
Anarchists "see both parties as the problem," so both conventions are prime targets for them, a federal law enforcement official told Fox News.

Now I understand the other comment.
Those tactics are way too extreme for me. I would rather try to learn from both parties than risk a lengthy stay in federal prison. I hear they don't serve mess hall $2.45 breakfasts in those places.

Yeah, incense is a no go, and they'd take away your Prius.

Oh, I see. Great way to boost egg sales before Easter. I wonder, with such a credible threat of acid eggs, if they will call out the National Guard.

DHS and the sky is falling again.
As soon as I read this I knew Dept of Homeland Security had to be involved in this "WARNING".
I'd love to meet the DHS genius that put out that information. Acid in eggshells, just throwing them after you breech the shell could cause them to break. To place acid into an eggshell without breaking it would be very technically challenging and beyond the skill set of most morons. And theres only one way to carry eggs without breaking them..... I can just see the DHS snipers now, "SHOOT anyone carrying a carton of eggs!"
Five bucks says some DHS moron read something some idiot posted on some website and decided to warn the world the sky is falling, again.
We have created an agency flush with idiots.
Pandora's Box has nothing on the Department of Homeland Security.

1. Not a chance, wallet is closed. Saving for a book.
2. Now some dumbass probably will try this and, if he's not in the hospital with burns, some geek at a state fusion cell will holler, "See? I knew it, I just KNEW it."

Made me think of the movie The Jerk
[a sniper keeps missing Navin and hitting cans of motor oil]
Navin R. Johnson: He hates these eggs!! Stay away from the eggs!!!

The "anarchists" are too late. The "authorities" will be blocking plenty of bridges and roads without any help. If the "anarchists" plan to drive their eggs to Tampa, their hybrid will end up getting stuck in traffic behind the Escalade carrying all 4 members of the New Black Panther Party.

So, in order to understand the threat better:
Just how much deadly acid can go into an egg shell?
Chicken eggs or ostrich eggs? (I was thinking the plastic ones, but those probably carry less at the seal).
And approximately how many eggs can one person carry?
Rate of fire?
Range?
Did they put Tampa hospitals on standby (though the Tampa hospitals are probably always on standby)?
Enemy numbers, and those with exceptionally good throwing arms?
DHS still has their work cut out for them, IMO.

This subject triggered some amusing discussion in the lab today... we thought maybe they pulled information from a high school chemistry experiment and misunderstood the instructions...
... not to mention, injecting these acids into an egg would cause a chemical reaction between the protein and acid thereby neutralizing the affects...
... when I left, they were talking about having fun with a non-billable project using various size & type of eggs and solvents..

If you really want to hurt someone with an egg just throw some frozen ones at them.
