If I was going to commit a murder there's no way I would even consider getting myself into more trouble by taking a gun into a gun free zone. Who would be dumb enough to do that?

You know, could always post signs like this in the yard and then wait.

I think gun free zones are a great idea....think of the savings...we can fire all of the secret service guys and just put up "Gun Free Zone" signs wherever the President visits/goes.
