Duluth Flooding 2012

This is what happens when 9-10+ inches of rain fall in 24 hours does to a city on a hill.
This first video is just for perspective. This is just over 150 yards from my house in Lakeside. Its taken at Amity Falls on the Lester River, or "the Deeps" is what my self and other locals call it.

Note the Gazebo just under the bridge and rememebr it when you watch the second clip.

Damage ranged from a few inches of water in the basment (what i had to deal with) to entire streets dissapearing.

In 1974 or 75 on the Texas Coast, a "Tropical Depression" came ashore and dumped 27" of rain in an 18 hour period. We don't have the terrain to cause what Duluth is seeing, but I could have gotten on a surfboard @ my place (Just off of NASA Rd #1 in Friendswood) and paddled to Havana Cuba without having to make very many detours!! We were prox 40 miles inland!!
