Congressional Black Caucus: Opposition to Obama is Racist
So, does "uncool" mean white?
http://campaign2012.washingtonexamin...-racist/592346
Angela Rye, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus, argued that President Obama has struggled during his first term due to racially-motivated opposition from conservatives who dislike having a black president.
"This is probably the toughest presidential term in my lifetime," Rye said during CSPAN's Q&A yesterday. "I think that a lot of what the president has experienced is because he's black. You know, whether it's questioning his intellect or whether or not he's Ivy League. It's always either he's not educated enough or he's too educated; or he's too black or he's not black enough; he's too Christian or not Christian enough. There are all these things where he has to walk this very fine line to even be successful."
She said that "a lot" of conservative opposition is racially-charged, citing the use of the word "cool" in an attack ad launched by Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS superPAC.
"There's an ad, talking about [how] the president is too cool, [asking] is he too cool? And there's this music that reminds me of, you know, some of the blaxploitation films from the 70s playing in the background, him with his sunglasses," Rye said. "And to me it was just very racially-charged. They weren't asking if Bush was too cool, but, yet, people say that that's the number one person they'd love to have a beer with. So, if that's not cool I dont know what is.
She added that "even 'cool,' the term 'cool,' could in some ways be deemed racial [in this instance]."
Rye said "I don't know" when asked if black enthusiasm for Obama might be lower than in 2008, but added that the Democrats have to explain how voter ID laws are racist to help motivate black voters.
"I think that there is a lot of work that needs to be done to educate people on the issues with voting rights this time," she told CSPAN. "A lot of our members feel that the voting rights bills that have been passed on voter ID . . . is going to create a barrier whether there's an enthusiasm gap or not. You have a situation where it's a modern-day poll tax."
MSNBC's Ed Schultz argued last year that "break" is a Southern racist term that should also never be applied to President Obama.

Not "white", you're thinkin' "Ozarks"
I think we would be dishonest if we didn't admit that our prejudices do come into play. Kennedy faced the anti-Catholic faction.
It sucks to be first at anything other NASCAR.

Its the pot calling the kettle black, The BCC was never a big cheerleader for Bush but that was due to his policies, I do not recall the right playing the race card back then. When all else fails blame it on O's color, I personally could not endorse any white president who acts like him. He's even been likened to the Kardashians, thats not a compliment, they are pretty much worthless too.

This must be a part of that 'bringing us all together' thing so central to his administration.
Ask Al West what he thinks about the BBC.

President Obama's campaign has released its latest radio ad, the first ad of the campaign specifically to target black voters.
“Four years ago we made history,” the voiceover in the ad states. “Now it’s time to move forward and finish what we started together. We have to show the President we have his back.”
Snippets of the president's remarks are played throughout the ad, as well as a catchy R&B tune with the chorus "we've got your back."
Listen to the 60-second spot here.
The Barack Obama re-election campaign Tuesday will air its first radio ad targeting African-Americans, campaign officials confirmed.
The 60-second ad, entitled “We’ve Got Your Back,” appeals to black voters’ nostalgia about the election of the nation’s first African-American president, calling for those voters to stand with the president again in November. ...
The ads are being placed nationally by Fuse Advertising, an African-American owned agency based in St. Louis, Missouri, which also was contracted by the Obama campaign in 2008.
Here's the website the ad points listeners to: gottavote.org/.

I think Obama's big struggle has been trying to figure out who to blame when something goes South. He was unqualified when elected with each new day providing further evidence of his lack of experience.

I don't care if my President is white, black, brown, red, male, or female. I only care that my President is competent. I care they can lead this great country so my children have more prosperity than I did.
President Obama, is not that guy. He is woefully inept for the position he holds. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Not to us, it doesn't. Evidently, it does to his campaign team...

Bush's failure; he didn't give him the "Write three letters..." lesson.

Meh. I wouldn't expect his re-election team to ignore what they see as low hanging fruit. Plus, I don't expect any election team to keep their horse on the high ground.
What do expect is for MY POTUS to be competent. Which, IMHO has not been the case for this administration.

Obama is the one who is polarizing the voters by blatantly kowtowing to blacks. If there's been a lot of racism displayed during this guy's term, it's been reverse.
He tried the gender-split strategy with the "war on women", and it backfired. This tack may do the same.
As far as all these relatively fresh opinions of Obama's "incompetence" goes; where the f.ck was everyone in '07 and '08 when we tried to warn everybody loddy doddy? His incompetence and the danger he posed for the Country was as obvious then as it is now, but people averted their eyes because they didn't want to be percieved as bigots.
Naw, white people don't have to display their lack of prejudice; they're the ones who allowed this guy to take control of the Country because they didn't want anybody to percieve them as racist.
Once again; it's virtually impossible for a Country whose majority is biased against blacks to elect a black as POTUS.

They have to blame it on racism. Otherwise they would be forced to critically examine his record and determine just what an ineffective leader he has been.
