A QP recommended me the DVD as reference. So I thought, "neat, something to relearn/remind me of the old basics. Pretty awesome cinematography with Hans-Zimmer-like soundtrack too"
Boy, was I wrong. It's like when I thought I was smart until I was enrolled in an engineering program. The art part is a tough-lifetime learning, so I thought at least I got the science part of LRS pretty good...until one paradigm after another was demolished, and I struggled to keep up with Todd's spewing concepts and math at 2700 fps+. Todd's practical/empirical approach of letting the bullet tells the truth is solid. No myth, old adage, or one of those "they say..." going on here. Haven't drank from the fire hydrant for a while since master Boucher and master Econ did a knowledge dump on my shooting log.
I'll have to write the learned-lessons later on, as there's too many still churning between the ears, and many more to try out at the range.
Another big bonus is a section and blurbs here and there on mindset. Might be no new info to (most) forum members here, but not surprisingly, Todd Hodnett is BIG on mindset:
- Failure is when you don't try, when you don't move out of your comfort zone.
- Wherever you are, be all there.
