Obama Drops His Name Into the Other Presidential Biographies

Quote:
Seth Mandel | @SethAMandel 05.15.2012 - 9:08 AM

Many of President Obama’s fervent devotees are young enough not to have much memory of the political world before the arrival of The One. Coincidentally, Obama himself feels the same way—and the White House’s official website reflects that.

The Heritage Foundation’s Rory Cooper tweeted that Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan’s official biography on www.whitehouse.gov, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan’s tax reform advocacy with his “Buffett Rule” gimmick. My first thought was, he must be joking. But he wasn’t—it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford).

I heard he also linked himself to the 10 Commandants.

By all rights, he should go down as the most incompetent in History, but History is being consistently revised and re-written by lib educators to the point that some of it's nearly unrecognizable, now.

He is definitely a legend in his own mind. I think that there is such a thing as Presidential, I have yet to see it in Obama.

Unmitigated Disaster Obama policy plugs to past presidents' bios

Unmitigated Disaster is an understatement.... jimmy carter you are not longer the worst this country has ever had, that title now belongs to another.

Obama policy plugs to past presidents' bios
White House under fire for adding Obama policy plugs to past presidents' bios
Published May 16, 2012
FoxNews.com

The Obama White House is drawing ridicule for appending the official online biographies of nearly every president over the last century in order to link President Obama's accomplishments to the former commanders in chief.

The Obama team went into the pages of U.S. presidents dating back to Calvin Coolidge to add friendly looking "Did you know?" fact boxes to the end of their bios. Those additions were used to plug a host of Obama administration initiatives, ranging from the health care overhaul to the so-called "Buffett Rule" to his green-energy policies.

For instance, the following line was added to the official bio of the late President Ronald Reagan: "In a June 28, 1985, speech, Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multimillionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule."

The White House is coming under heavy criticism from conservatives for the changes, and not just to Reagan's page.

Late Tuesday, the White House defended itself, claiming the staff was merely adding links to other pages.

1. No historian worthy of the title should allow such a thing.
2. No POTUS bio info beyond his inauguration date should be present until term of office has been completed.
3. Not surprised at all; desperate measures by desperate people.*

* Meanwhile, the left is screaming bloody murder because (apparently) the DNC has left them hanging in WI where they're being vastly outspent, whereas the RNC is "all in" and committed to seeing WI Gov. Scott Walker prevail during the recall election 5 June.

The present administration, or someone in it, may realize the obama message(s) is/are in a world of hurt. An attempt at altering history to make obama look good is pretty drastic, and telling.

Let us pray this is his only term. A second four years will make his first term look mild.

TS is right, carter is looking like John Wayne compared to obama. http://professionalsoldiers.com/foru...ght=John+Wayne.

I read several of the amended bios. What a bunch of unadulterated crap! It made me wonder why they only started with Calvin Coolidge. Why not add something to all of them. There is no integrity with any of the members of this administration.

Ineptitude and idolatry are two words that come to mind with this administration and its sycophantic followers.

Personally, I would have had little problem with what was done IF the "Did you know?" sections to the end of the bios had shown a greater continuum with important contributions to such highlighted actions as done by a number of Presidents vs just adding the BHO stuff.

For example, adding something like this:

•On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). During the Great Depression and continuing throughout WW2, President Roosevelt used the radio address as a means of reaching out to the citizens of the United States, providing them with important information and personal words of encouragement as the nation faced a decade of dire economic and political struggle. With the rapid advent of technology throughout the last decade of the 1990s and into the 21st Century, President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

As it stands now, however, what exists comes across as facile political pandering that uses those bio pages as a manipulative electioneering billboard of sorts for the FB generation.

And so it goes...

Richard

I can't wait for the Unmitigated Disaster's final days. I'm sure the Pardon list will be long with names such as Roman Polanski, Onyango Obama, Zeituni Onyango and Antron Singleton aka Big Lurch.

After this term is over and he's gone,I wouldn't be surprised that with all his hollywood friends he makes a movie about himself playing himself...........
