Two things

Looking at a Gemtech Trek suppressor for my new RRA. $550 plus $220 Stamp.
Any big cons to this can? I like the price, and have not heard any issues on it.

Never been through the process, but the local dealer states 8 months wait.

My question is if I write up a Trust, in Florida it only has to be Notarized, the County does not record trusts, just property that goes into (funding) the trust.

How does ATF know if the trust is good. Do they get a copy of it with the form 4?

I have searched and could not find my answer.

OK three things. What can be done to the AR to lock the bolt from operating after the shot?

For an AR, I prefer a QD can. Also, you can use a 7.62 can for 5.56 and not loose much as far as db reduction. If I had only one can, I'd get the AAC 762SDN-6. It's not much bigger than their 5.56 M4-2000 can. AAC has a lot of attitude and I'm not crazy about their image, or customer service but I know some guys there so I get a better than average CS. They are busy so that is part of the problem. Surefire makes nice can as well, but they're pricey. You can buy the 762SDN for $850-875, the Surefire would be $1100-1350 at best.

A new can out is the Silencerco Saker. Haven't shot one but there is some modularity on the end cap. Also the company has good CS.

Gemtech has a pretty good reputation. I think there are better out there. Some AF-SOF are using Gemtech's.

Here is a link to a Trek review. http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/vi...?f=106&t=53223

Also the stamp tax is $200 not $220. The wait right now after going pending (about a month after your forms are sent in) is 6 months. It's only going to get worse....

Trust - get it looked over by an attorney for State validity. There have been some instances of the ATF realizing that the Trust wasn't valid under the particular state law and it caused some problem for the individual. I'm not saying go to the "gun trust lawyer" but at least a knowledgable set of eyes. I went with the Corp route as it worked the best for me - but it costs me $120 a year to maintain it. FL LLC/Corp may be better. Some states are a one time fee to set up, some are annual.

Yes - you send a copy of the Trust with a Schedule A (property list) in with the Form 4.

Keep the bolt for cycling - look at the Noveske Switchblock. It give you the ability to turn the gas off from going back to the bolt carrier.
