Geezzz. They show the Washington Monument in the trailer...it wasn't completed until almost 20 years after his death.

Saw that too. LOL
But, it is Hollywood where when making a movie, they check the facts, check them again and then re-check them again for accuracy.

So, seeing this is a thread about Lincoln and seeing this is PS.com and the Comedy Thread .......

All Things considered, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln ????

Did you know Roseanne Barr got the part???

post-script: When I posted this comment, I had just read a news article about Bar tweeting the real address of Zimmerman's parents,, After Spike Lee tweeted the wrong address.. I know it's a stretch,, not funny..

I wonder if Vegas will offer odds on: how long it will take for this film to be turned into a musical and how long it will be before some sleepy-eyed undergraduate incorporates the facts from this movie into an essay she's scrawling in a blue book.

The movie opens this weekend.

Anyone gonna see it?

If you do, make sure you give us an "accurate" sit-rep.

Is this an attempt to cause the good Team Sergeant to go through with the sepoku threat, preventing the whole "coffee in a pool of your blood" business?? I think yes.

I read a book by the same title a few months ago during a break in reading more serious material. It was actually surprisingly creative and entertaining.

I refuse to watch the movie though. Some things need to stay in print.

Anything zombie right now is hot so it will probably do pretty well, regardless of its actual quality.

The Book

The book was a clever and fast read. It was described well by one critic as, "It’s a “popcorn movie” of a book, one that you enjoy mainly for its entertainment value at the time and probably won’t remember for much longer after the fact." I read it just outside Herefordshire this Spring at a UK training facility. Perfect setting for historical intrigue. It did blend an actual biography and its requisite tone with a mythical biography and make them appear seamlessly integrated. It did not include the Washington Monument or flash.

So if you choose between the book and film, I would take the book. Seeing the trailer, it pales with the book.

Almost as spooky as Roseanne Barr, in any context.
