PA Declares Church in Bethlehem to be Unlawful
PA Declares Church in Bethlehem to be Unlawful
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...7#.T2Bv1yPxjJw
"The Palestinian Authority declared a Baptist Church in Bethlehem to be unlawful and said that it will no longer receive rights as a religious institution, Algemeiner reported.
This decision comes a week after Prime Minister Salam Fayyad told an audience of Evangelical Protestants that his government respected the rights of its Christian minorities.................."
The slow March continues.

“They said that our legitimacy as a church from a governmental point of view is not approved,” said an assistant pastor at the First Baptist Church. “They said they will not recognize any legal paper work from our church. That includes birth certificates, wedding certificates and death certificates. Children are not even considered to be legitimate if they don’t have recognized paperwork.”
So churches there do their own birth certificates? It's not gov't issued?

OK, the PA has made a statement, they may regret this in the future. My statement is that Palistanians are a bastard mix of Jordanians and Egyptions. As a group they let Yasser Affafat steal hundreds of millions of dollars from the " Palistanian People" so his slut wife could live like a queen in Paris I could tell you what I really think, but I'll hold off.

That's funny, I consider the PA to be unlawful and all of it's acts to be illegitimate.

That's a nice sentiment but it is the PA that Obama and his lib minions are wanting to turn the West Bank over to, to govern. Many in the retarded UN see it the same way. they makie excuses as to why not to condemn the PA for its actions while demanding they be placed in charge.
Soon they will be the government and their "decrees" the force fo law.

I don't think we're hearing the whole issue, but it sounds like yet another of the long-standing shakedowns by those currently in power over those who are not in an ages olde protectionist racket way.
When I was in Jerusalem, I was looking into going to Bethlehem to visit Rachel's tomb and to walk on some of the streets trod by peoples who had an important impact on the development of Western culture.
Jews are unwelcome in Bethlehem, and Christians there are treated pretty much as diasporal Jews were treated throughout the western world until the very recent past, with limited opportunity and strict governing codes. Tourism fees paid directly to the PA and ' donations' by Christian tourists visiting their ' holy' sites are important sources of revenue for both groups.
I would have had to pay the PA a visitors fee and, because my passport had been stamped upon entry at Ben Gurion airport, negotiate an additional fee with the border control agents for them to conveniently avoid seeing that stamp in my passport and allow me to pass into the area...if they were feeling gratuitous that day, that is.
I refuse to give any $$ to the PA so I wound up not going. Maybe someday.
But until then, and so it goes...
Richard

Surely some folks over there wish someone would "place a charge" in the PA.
