Talking How Engineering the Human Body Could Combat Climate Change

http://www.theatlantic.com/technolog...change/253981/

"...we looked into cat eyes, the technique of giving humans cat eyes or of making their eyes more catlike. The reason is, cat eyes see nearly as well as human eyes during the day, but much better at night. We figured that if everyone had cat eyes, you wouldn't need so much lighting, and so you could reduce global energy usage considerably."

Can't make this stuff up. This is priceless!

Cat Eyes

Many evolutionary changes will occur because we don't go outside hardly at all anymore.

We won't really need hair, so I'm sure that will evolve away in time for our eyes to look like and function as those of a cat (and save energy). We won't need big, floppy ears because of constant volume in our immediate environment. Our skin will adopt a greyish tone since we won't be exposed to UV rays, and our fingers will get long and slender from typing keyboards and using pads. Our nostrils and lips will evolve away entirely.

Our skulls will expand in order to house the increasing capacity of our brains. We'll get smaller and uniformly thin due to controlling our synthetic diet.

We'll spend most of our time at the computer figuring out how to build anti-gravitational ships so we can go back in time and visit ourselves in the past.

A few of us will crash at Roswell, NM in 1947.

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat, there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits.
