Dunk Tank Thread

I didn't want to Hijack Frontsights Thread.

I have never used a Dunk Tank. I hope you all can help me out with some questions.

1. Are they worth it?

2. I have looked through Brownells for some supplies but I'm not sure what I need. So what do I need?

3. What are the steps take to use these things. I'm guessing the following:

a. Fully Disassemble the firearm.
b. drop in tank for x amount of time. For how long?
c. pull from tank and let drain. For how long?
d. wipe off excess solvent.
e. lube working parts.
f. reassemble firearm.

Am I missing anything else?

Thank you for all your info and input.

Unless you shoot every day or have a bunch of students cleaning weapons at the same time forget the dunk tank.

I still clean weapons the old fashioned method.

We have them and use them at work but it's almost more hassle than it's worth. If you use them I would highly recommend having compressed air to get all of the solvent off of them prior to wiping and lubing.
