As seen from space

Wild video of the Earth, taken aboard the ISS this past Aug. thru Oct.

It's wild picking out landmarks/land masses as they fly over ... just like the opening sequence .... ain't NO other city like that city.

Cheers to NASA....

It is simply incredible to think about just how far we have come as a species in the last 100 years. Americans have an insatiable curiosity to find, explore, improve and preserve life that is truly unmatched by any other nation.
Thanks NASA. You guys are amazing.

Amazing video! I think the most impressive scenes were the Aurora Borealis and the lightening storms.

I don't think the desire to explore is exclusive to US alone. The true test of space capabilities will be placing a man on Mars and establishing an outpost there. The next question is whether it will be accomplished by a government agency or private industry such as Virgin Galactic.

Of course we are not the only nation to dare to explore. Hence the "International" part of the "International Space Station". We are however, the unequivocal leader when it comes to both manned and unmanned space flight. Hope that continues into the future (hard to do so with budget cuts). I think that the future may be one of partnership between Gov. agencies and private companies.

NASA probe landing on Mars

Live feed of the Curiosity landing on Mars is available here.

This is the first time I've seen a NASA or JPL control room in which the people sitting at the work stations made me feel old.

What a small solar system. Steve Lee, one of the EPL Engineers in the video was my roommate in college. His dream was always to go to Mars - I'm glad he made it.
