OK & TX shake & rattle

For some of you West Coasties this may be nothing but it was the first earthquake that I have felt.

Guess I need to go check the foundation of the house!

Glad it wasn't worse. Pretty shallow depth at 3.1 miles! I see there are reports of minor damage, some foundation cracks etc.

Seismic activity related to the Seminole Uplift Structure. A record quake for Oklahoma and reportedly felt as far away as Tennessee. "Record" being a relative term - as in since records have been kept.

Here at FT Sill my budys were telling me how I slept through a earthquake last night. It was around 2300 and I was dead asleep in my bunk. I never knew I was that much of a heavy sleeper... They said it was tracked as a 5.6.

Yes, they definitely get your attention, often they are too small to notice, though last month in SF we had two just about 4.0's within 6 hours. They are usually over by the time you realize what is going on.

I use it as an occasion to recheck my go bag, I nearly got caught in the building elevator on the last one, I used the stairs for for the next few days.

Scariest two seconds of my life.

My wife was in the kitchen and hollered, "Did you just do a side straddle hop in the bedroom?"
