Patrick,

Post infrequently.. Read, use the search function, and do lots of PT.. The road you are looking at is long and you will need your mind and body to be ready for the challenge.

Good Luck..

Make sure you let your NCOs and Officers know how you feel. It'll make Basic that much easier.

Patriotism and loyalty aren't very high up on your basic list of principles. But whining and bad mouthing a good bunch of soldiers seems to be very high up on your to do list.

Stop in at my My Uncle Casey's house anytime, he's in Lumsden, SASK. Just ask for Casey, "the" Casey, everyone knows him, salt of the earth. Tell him what you think about the Canadian Army. He's about 85 now and is probably pretty busy getting the last of the winter wheat into the ground but I'm guessing the old salt would love to tell you about landing on Juno beach with The Royal Regina Rifles. My Aunt Nelda will clean you up -- "...why you poor dear I don't know what got into him!" -- and give you a nice piece of gooseberry pie.

My apologies

I'm not badmouthing them. It was my attempt at some humor. I'm sorry if I offended you sirs. When I think ground pounding, beach stormin grunts I don't think Canadian. I think American. I know all about Canada's history in wars. I know all about how us Canadians burned down a certain capitol building or how we were the only ones to complete our objectives on D-day or how we broke a stalemate that the two biggest armies in the world couldn't in WW1.

Pat - understand. Canada has some damned fine units and some real brave cats. Look up the warriors in Princess Priscilla's Light Infantry - some darned good dudes. The Canadian Airborne Regiment was the balls before the PC police took them down. Not sure of their status today. Good luck!!

Your attempt at humor was ill conceived on a forum of professional soldiers.
Once you've served, you can take occasional jabs. Until you have served, try to curb your cute comments. You have already exposed yourself and drawn fire after only 3 posts.

Read more, post less.
