We're #1

All you cowboys and militia members need to suck it up and get on the job. You lagging behind badly. DC is still ranked #1 by at least 5 points.

Picture #1 sure looks familiar!!!

DC is surprise because they have strict gun laws and the city has bookoo security....I am kind of surprised St. Louis is higher in the ranking.

MSM has a tendency to skew statistics anythime they are referencing the use of firearms. Searching google gives you many contradictory sources. When you look at violent cities, the picture changes.

Taking the specific reference to firearms out also changes how things look.

As Bob puts it, violent crime has continually dropped for the last few years while legal firearms ownership has increased.

It is really no surprise that DC was on the top of the list. Seriously looking at crime rates will show that states with the highest legal firearms ownership have the lower crime rates. Criminals like easy targets.

I totally agree with you, I was being somewhat facetious and thinking out loud.

It is somewhat of a surprise that DC is No. 1 on the list considering they have all the security and don't allow firearms....seems like they should be able to control the crime?

DC was a scary place to visit when I was 12, I can only imagine what it like now.

East St. Louis has been a hell hole as long as I can remember. I stopped at a St. Louis Gas Station off I-70 on the way to Rockford one evening, got out of my vehicle to pay. The old Black Man running the place said to get back in my vehicle and he would be out to fill my tank. You don't...it's no problem, just do what I say, I'll be out. He came out an informed me that I stuck out like a sore thumb (white dot on a black background) and that people were looking funny at me and meant to do me harm. He filled the tank, I thanked him and made me promise I would not get off I-70 for any reason until I reached a certain city on the Illinois

Then I met a guy from the Illinois side of St. Louis last summer who asked if I had a CCW, and he informed me that at home he went nowhere with out his weapon. I was bit perplexed, and said it sounded like a war zone and he said you have no idea. He was very adamant about the need and the danger.
