How many "trucks"

Not sure that would be the right answer anymore as there are more than "one" major flagged command....Could be three or four.... just saying... CSM-H

Guard Mount

At the time of the big Guard Mounts/Details on Smoke Bomb Hill ( about 18 troops) there was three - 18th Corps, 82nd and the one at the White ( now tan) House. The IMA/CMA Guard Detail was responsible for putting up the at the White House.

There were also poles & trucks in the Old Division and COSCOM Areas - but they didn't run up a Flag every day. IIRC they would run one up when the ROTC was at Summer Camp in the Old Division Area.

As to what's inside them - myths and tails. The Truck is empty except for the fancy ones that hide the pully. The Truck's use is to keep the flag and rope from getting stuck up there.
