How did I miss this? Blackwater contractors or should I say blackwater "Operators" as game pieces?

I wonder if there's a game situation where you get to shoot into a crowd of unarmed civilians and just slay them?

Blackwater training, spray and slay.

Should make a great kids game.

"Look mommy I just shot and killed 18 unarmed civilians!!!! That's one more than the Blackwater Operators killed!"

Xe should be proud. Erik Prince still in hiding in some middle eastern country?

New game Blackwater, out Oct. 25 ($50, for ages 13-up), leverages the name of the shadowy security contractor in the first first-person shooting game designed for Microsoft's Kinect motion-sensing system. Players stand about 10 feet from the TV and raise their arms to target enemies, rather than hitting buttons on a controller, as the Kinect's camera tracks the player's movements.

As part of a team in hostile North African territory, players are charged with rescuing and protecting U.N. officials, among other missions. "They are going to be shooting, moving and communicating through very difficult, unknown, uncertain situations," says Blackwater founder Erik Prince, who is partnering on the game with developer Zombie Studios and publisher 505 Games. "And they are going to be active; they're not going to be sitting down. They will be jumping, lunging, squatting, reloading, throwing, kicking and punching."

The game is one of Prince's first moves to extend the brand. Two years ago, he bowed out of the day-to-day business, which was renamed Xe Services as the company and its training center in North Carolina were sold to USTC Holdings in 2010. Xe's latest contract, worth $17.6 million, comes from the Department of Defense to support counter-narcoterrorism activities in Afghanistan.

Yeah, I bet the game starts with your character as a "mall security guard" and you train him to become a Blackwater "operator". I'm sure the game culminates when you fire into a crowd of unarmed civilians with points for killing the most men, women and children.

But the various adults wandering around the city, you are free to gun down or run down as much as you like.

You also get to fight the authorities, which increases in intensity as you do more damage. You go from regular cops to huge swaths of cop cars to SWAT teams (I think), then the FBI will come in (their strategy is where a car pulls up, four FBI agents get out, and open fire on you with M16s), do more damage still, and the Army gets called in, complete with troop carriers and tanks. If you want to do crazy amounts of damage, you can hijack a tank (or just type in the code to get the tank from the get-go) and blast away. You also can hijack an Apache in one of the games, and I think a fighter plane in another.

I can just envision the maniacal glee on your face while you're describing the action.

Maybe some of you QPs should get into this business of advising computer game writers and designers when they are developing an Army inspired game. Some of the conversations in those games are just cheezy and are inspired by what Hollywood says Soldiers are like. The little nuances are very important if you want to paint an authentic picture.

A game is a game is a game....no freakin way...if you want to 'see the elephant' pay your money and take your chances....whole lot more realism that way

The Army did that in 2003, its called "Americas Army 2" but even that had to cross the line between realism and a game.
On the upside it did have the Eagle tower from FT. Benning and detailed videos for first aid and other miscellaneous info, It also had intro's to 18 series MOS; The SERE training was quite funny too, although i was waiting for a bearded fellow to knock you out if caught... Sadly it didn't happen.
