Gilad Shalit Returned to Israel

On the one hand, this: Gilad Shalit Reunited with his Family

On the other hand, this... Abbas Greets Newly Released Palestinian Prisoners as Freedom Fighters

... and this: IDF Warns Soldiers of Future Kidnapping Attempts

What happened to the good old days of 1976, when negotiations bought time for the rescue op?

I saw this story on AFN this morning. The IDF Soldier looked like he had been in a concentration camp. Skinny as hell, trouble walking, thousand yard stare, difficulty breathing etc..... An Egyptian reporter interviewed him just prior to the turn over and he said he was well treated. BS!! Then they show the Palestinians that were being released. Fat, happy and calling for more jihad and the capture of IDF prisoners. Well, my day is ruined. I'm so fed up with it all. I'm going to go fire the mortar and try to cheer up.

Speaking to reporters, Shalit’s father said later Tuesday that his son was suffering from a few minor injuries, including shrapnel wounds he sustained during his capture, as well as the effects of lack of sunlight, but other than that he was in good health.
Good thing he didn't contract tetanus or sepsis.

I hope he gets the help that he needs and comes back to normal civilian life.

I am certain that this will come back to haunt the Israeli people.

You do not negotiate with terrorists. Ever. Unless it is a ruse to kill more of them.
