I played all my life, and junior hockey up in Canada for a couple years. Didn't realize how much they cared about the game until I got there! It's a great game that doesn't have that big of a fan base in the U.S.

How about you QP?

Mostly pond hockey for me Big Teddy - shoveled (scraped) off 2' feet of snow with a piece of plywood and then skated all day - I started comparatively late but love the game. Blessed to play with some very good players.

Poked a hole in the ice with my stick when thirsty - push up position with gloves on the ice and drank - some of the best times of my life.

I've played the game starting in the late 40's(When there was I think(?)only 8 pro teams)......... We wore no helmets in those days,and my hockey background is posted someplace on this forum....... I found one guy who played during that period and we had good times recalling our combat days on the ice.........

Go Gophers.
I don't really have a favorite college team, but I follow prospects in the LA Kings system. That's where those four teams come from.

Ahhh a FOG! Thats awesome you have been able to see the game grow from pretty much the start! In my opinion you can always pick a hockey player and service members out of a crowd, don't know why that is.

PS it was only 6 teams (original 6);
Toronto, Boston, Montreal, New York (Rangers), Chicago, Detroit.
The next expansion was not until 1967 and was the biggest one!
