I'd be interested what many thought of last years "Spartacus".

Actor Andy Whitfield, the star of the TV series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” lost the battle with cancer on Sunday morning. He was only 39 years old. His family and friends are “deeply saddened”, Reuters reports.

Andy Whitfield, the gorgeous actor playing Spartacus in the TV series named “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”, passed away on Sunday morning in Sydney, surrounded by his loved ones. His wife, Vashti Whitfield, lately released an official statement in which she announced the death of the actor.

“On a beautiful sunny Sydney ... morning, surrounded by his family, in the arms of his loving wife, our beautiful young warrior Andy Whitfield lost his 18-month battle with lymphoma cancer”, she wrote.

Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma a year and a half ago. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a type of cancer in which the malignant cells are formed in the lymph system. The system includes the lymph liquid (which transports the white blood cells in the body), the lymph vessels, the lymph nodes, the spleen, the thymus, the tonsils and the bone marrow. Any of these may be affected.

Among the factors that contribute to the development of NHL there are: age, gender, race, genetics and diet. It has been observed that the diagnosis is more present in white males that are older. Also, people who don’t have a well-balanced immune system, those who have had relatives with the disease, or those who have been exposed to certain pesticides have a higher risk of developing NHL.

It is not known which of these causes have contributed to the actor’s NHL development. Andy Whitfield’s state worsened in the past months. He retired from the show and was replaced with actor Liam McIntyre. Chris Albrecht, the president of the television network which airs “Spartacus”, stated that “Andy was an inspiration to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, strength and grace” and named him “a champion on-screen” and “a champion in his own life.”

When it first came on, I thought it was just soft porno with abundant violence and gore; then I started getting into the story and wound up really liking it.

If it was simply soft porno with abundant violence and gore would you still have liked it? Doesn't sound to bad to me.
