South Kordofan ceasefire declared by Sudan's Bashir

South Kordofan ceasefire declared by Sudan's Bashir

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14632513

"Sudan's president has announced a two-week ceasefire in South Kordofan state where fighting since June has displaced some 200,000 people from their homes.

"I declare a unilateral two-week ceasefire," AFP quotes Omar al-Bashir as saying on state radio................."

and

"..........Mr Bashir also said that foreign organisations would not be allowed into South Kordofan and that any aid would be delivered only through the Sudanese Red Crescent organisation, Reuters news agency reports..........."

Don't look for any aid getting to the people who need it.

Looks all too familiar

This news filing seems also to support "if it looks like, smells like..."
Red Crescent vs watchdog NGO as a side dish.

South Kordofan unrest: Sudan 'kills hundreds' of rebels

South Kordofan unrest: Sudan 'kills hundreds' of rebels

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-15529551

"Hundreds of rebels have been killed in Sudan's South Kordofan state following clashes with the army, officials have said - claims denied by the rebels.

Governor Ahmed Haroun said the SPLM-North rebels were killed when the army repelled an assault on Talodi city.

But a rebel spokesman said fighting was continuing and "many" government troops had been killed........................."

And the fighting continues.
