Sadly this is the case with the majority of the students at my college.

Gee, I wonder what political party that nice young man votes for and why. I'll bet dollars to donuts he believes that "we" need more stimulus.

But remember our retirement pay. Is put in the same category as this scum of society hand out. They label them all entitlements. Funny how all the News Media is calling everything related to a pension an entitlement. Say it enough and the masses will believe. That way when pensions are cut off the same time as Welfare. No one will complain

You are so right - what's the big deal regarding a government shutdown - it's a big deal because Obama and his minions tell us that the elderly, soldiers, retirees and the disabled won’t be paid. That's always their mantra. Same on the state and local level...governement cuts, <gasp> no more police and fire coverage...never mentioned are the mulitmillion dollar pet projects for "smart" meters, and the like.

You can’t tell me that federal agencies can’t all find 10% in administrative expenses to cut. We are pissing so much money away - look at this list:

A-Z Index of U.S. Government Departments and Agencies:

http://www.usa.gov/Agencies/Federal/...es/index.shtml

The truth is that everyone is making wild ass guesses and nobody really has any clue what the economy will look like two, three, and certainly not four years into the future. But, no reasonable person disagrees that reducing our national debt is a necessity.

I do know that Obama's recent shameless threatening of the elderly, disabled, retirees and veterans is no way to go.

I'm not surprised by anything a politician says. Medicare and Medicaid are always joined together by the DC dirt bags. The difference is that for the most part Medicare has been paid for by the person receiving it while Medicaid is medical welfare. Social Security has in most cases paid for by the recipient and SSI is welfare. Your Military pension you have paid for with time, danger and sometimes blood, you are entitled to it because you met your part of the bargain, and no one should question the fact that you expect their part of the bargain to be honored. I don't hear any political hack in DC demanding that all benefits be stopped for all illegal aliens, and I don't see any DC elected dip shit questioning foreign aid to anyone, not China, not Mexico and not the UN. I don't see these elected heroes questioning the pension that they have "earned" after a lot less than 20 years.

I wonder how much foreign (military) aid is piped through DOD discretionary spending vs. whats really on the books under ODA spending...
