Knife question to QP's....and all

Have any QP's used/heard of this blade (Or talked to the maker?) It's from a local maker who seems like a decent guy. Prices are a crazy high, but some fairly unique designs (This model 'Jungle Fighter' is a bit too close to my 'Pacific'....and way out of my price range).

I did ask Mr. Harsey's opinion first, but realized I was asking him to critique a fellow knife maker new to the industry (I apologize for that).

I'm only asking now as I know many QP's live in the PHX area, and might have some insight. It's advertised as (Copied from website):

"The Jungle Fighter was designed and adapted SF troops in the American military as a purpose built man fighting weapon."

Any input appreciated.

LMAO.

I always carried several knives - either a K-Bar or USN dive knife on my harness and a demo knife in my pocket - they were tools to be used for a slew of reasons...the least of which was to be used as a "man fighting weapon" let alone a "purpose built man fighting weapon."

And $750 for a utility knife - no thanks.

DO NOT stab a man with a knife that has a saw tooth on it. You may not get your knife back.

I am with Richard, I carried a KBar for years with a Swiss army knife for small utility work and he KBar was my hatchet, digging tool, and machete. Never even thought about "sneaking up and stabbing, hacking, or slicing a sentry", that is what supressed pistols were created to accomplish with less mess.

If I were to use a blade for that purpose I would use the machete technique and hack his head off. I beleive that there is a group of famed knife fighters that believe in teh same technique.

I would never pay that much money for a knife as I am not a knife collector.

I watched the embedded video and even read though the claims about the author being a CQB martial artist hand to hand yada yada guru. I think he should stick to just making his knives, as I am sure someone might like his designs, and refrain from talking/making videos. Personally, after hearing him in that video and his explanation, I wouldn't buy a knife from him.

Thanks for the replies. He is a nice enough guy, but his claims (And prices) seemed a bit exaggerated.

Here's my problem with this knife.. Is it just me or is the profile almost exactly like the Yarborough?!! Even the how the tang sticks out from under the scales!! And "its being reviewed by Special Operations"? (or whateve the website said..)!! WTF does that mean... ? I think it's a double edged knock off of the Yarborough with a cheap spiny toothed hair do...
I would like to hear what qualifies as being reviewed by SOF too... his next door neighbor is probably a support dude and occasionally he lets him hold one..?!?!

I am kinda pissed.
Just my thoughts..

Other than Wolfgang does anyone know anyone or know anyone who knew anyone who actually snuck up on someone from behind and took them out with a knife. 20 years in the military and I never met such a person.

Nope! You do what you have to do but so many knives are promoted as being designed for or being good for sentry elimination that you'd think it's common place and done on a frequent basis. You could just give me an old Sykes Fairbairn. It has a nice sharp blade and tip and goes in quick and easy. It would cut like butter for this purpose compared to the knife above.

PS I did know a couple of people who used an E-tool to get the job done though.

I've always felt that if you have to pull out a knife to fight you've done SOMETHING wrong.
