Simple Shelter

I was sent this. Looks like something that could be used by teams for low cost temporary/semipermanent shelters in areas that lack local construction materials and labor.

Or for that safe house in the boonies...

If it can fit on a pallet, it can be air dropped or hauled by a pick-up..

The new quonset hut? It'd take a lot of bottled water to make it work, though.

Something for the 18C to carry? Hell, it was bad enough humping a 'jazzer' or a MARS along with the team gear...

The field expedient method would be to just pee on it . . .

I'm hoping HRC would authorize these as United Nations - Acorn Recruiter Stations, Equipped.

SO at the end of the FET, we only need to UN-ARSE the AO!!

If your AO was tropical like central and south America, the constant rains would hydrate it, no problem.
How could you crank enough energy to power the fans and inflate it?
How long was their extension cord ?
I'd like two !

- So what does it weigh?

I notice it takes a good sized forklift to transport it, not exactly in the typical Detachment T.O. & E.

- As others have noticed, it takes water. I suspect, a lot of water. Exactly how much water? (Measured in gallons or cubic meters).

- Inflation with an electric fan.
What voltage and amperes, or just do the math ... how many watts?
Or for those with their own compressors, how many SCFM at what p.s.i.?
And for how long? (The video implies 24 hours).

- The video implies that it can be overlaid with sand or dirt to create a bunker. How much load can the fully cured shelter support?

- And, always important, what does it cost?

- That overbag better be truly airtight, or you will have bought one very large heavy block of folded concrete.

=====

Anyway, easy for me to stand on the outside and sharpshoot the idea. It looks like it has promise. The "concrete cloth" could probably be made into other functional shapes and sprayed into curing. (I'm thinking culverts, draping over blivets to create storage tanks, even lining a ditch to create a field expedient swimming pool). Hmmmm...
