What did you think about the Games??
Now that the Summer Games are over....
How do you think our athletes did? Compeating, professionalism, contucting themselves in general?
What to you, did you find the most inspirational? Event? Team? Individual effort? Biggest upset? Biggest let down?
Did you feel NBC (here in the states) gave enough coverage of the different events? What could they have done different?
How do you think Athens did? Did they REALLY pull off the games by themselves, or did they rely on too much outside help?
How do you think Bejing will do? Since the Games are a big revenue generator, do you think that the Chinese Govenerment will tone down their "Saber Ratteling" over Taiwan, knowing that if they do something "stupid", there could be sometype of boycott of the Games?

I thought the games overall were pretty good.
BUT the one thing that ALWAYS pisses me off about the Olympics is that they always cover events such as Gymnastics, Swimming, and Track. However they never cover sports such as Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Skeet, Trap, Fencing, etc, etc. You know all the sports that have come from warfare. I think its BS that they never cover these sports.
Additionally it pissed me off that NBC HIGHLIGHTED the bad events such as a competitor using drugs or something else of unsportsmen like conduct. I know and we all know this happens. Mention it okay I'm good with that but do you really need to spend 15 minutes covering the who, what, when, where, why, and how of someone caught doping? I think not, spend that time covering another sport or event.
Additionally I want to see competition not interviews.
Of course I shouldn't expect fair and complete coverage from NBC now should I.

But you got to hear Katie Couric babble on for hours!

Sorry TR... It just isn't as funny with your new avatar. CLICK HERE To see how my brain interprets your comments and you will see why. It just short circuits me trying to imagine that coming from the Duke. LOL

But the Duke's voice and mine are much lower and more manly than that.
How's this instead, "Well, Mister, if Katie didn't run her trap all night, watchin' those athlete fellas would have been a whole lot better!"
Or as Duval (Lucky Ned Pepper) said. "Well, I ain't never dropped a hammer on a woman or anyone much under the age of 14, but its enough for you to know I'll do what I have to."
Neat animation, BTW, never seen that before.

I saw the Games from a different perspective - I watched most of the events on Korean TV. They had four networks with more or less around the clock coverage, focusing on the Korean athletes (imagine that!). Sidebar: I am a somewhat proficient Korean Linguist, so the commentary was no problem. At any rate, I got to see a lot of the "minor" or lesser covered events. They thoroughly covered archery, shooting, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, weight lifting, table tennis and team handball. I had no idea that team handball could be so exciting; the South Korean women's team played for the Gold. When they lost in overtime in a shootout, I was nearly as dissapointed as my Korean born wife. The weightlifting was cool, especially the women. No, not that they were hot or anything, but just to see them (very) large gals lift. The Koreans actually did pretty good in these games, and will continue to improve. As for the gymnastics controversy: It was heavily covered (of course). But even locally, there was more anger directed to the stupid judges then there was to Paul Hamm (little to none, actually).
I think that Greece did a great job hosting, even considering the amount of outside help. But why should "outside help" matter; it IS an international event, isn't it?
China will play nice for the next four years. After 2008, though, all bets are off.
