Does this make sense?

Subject: Does this make sense?

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives, and only get 50% of their
pay , while politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines
of the capitol, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay
retirement after serving just one term.

It does not make any sense.

Staffers of congressional family members are exempt from having to pay back
student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will
broadcast it. When you consider this with the below information, just where
will it all stop ?

This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.
Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the
same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves
from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear
of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live
under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare
Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We should
not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are
Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall
make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not
apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall
make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does
not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

Where did you get this pure unadulterated horse manure from??

Go around to the front of the horse to get the facts.

WCH, I attended a TP exploratory committee meeting Tuesday; the part posted was in a larger packet that was distributed at the meeting. I posted it knowing full well its inflammatory nature, and the factual errors the piece contain. I posted expecting to be called on it. It was not a baiting situation, but I was interested in how long it would take a member on this board to respond.

I did this in order to counter a point related to building a political base, by using half truths and inflaming issue’s to garner support. Stating that it is wrong to play with highly charged emotional issues, but was told I should rethink my involvement, that elections are not about issues, they are about getting elected.

My sincerest apologies to the board for utilizing it as a resource to measure my waning interest with the NJ political process.

Hence we have the disconnect between the two-party system and the American people. This is the reason for the growing void between " them" and "us".
