Autumn

It is going to be an early fall up here. This is looking from my porch to the maple that has started turning behind my garage.

I have to say, Jack, that while I love the high desert, I would love to live up there. Looks so... peaceful.

It is, right now the only thing I can hear is the brook at the base of the hill and the wind blowing in the trees. We picked this place just for that reason. One more picture before I start to bore everyone, but it just sort of sets the scene of our cottage in the forest.

I would like to say that I'd love to retire to a place like that, and, actually, I really would, but somewhere back in my little black heart what I -really- want is a big spread of a ranch up in the high desert of N. Nevada/S. Idaho/E. Oregon. Big sky, lots of space, no neighbors.

Someday.

I'm with you on that one, except no livestock. Just open land with a pistol range and rifle range within walking distance of my reloading shed.

That would be heaven.

That is exactly the kind of place my wife and I have talked about for when the kids have all moved out. We were thinking VT,NH,ME.

You lot can have your Autumn, I don't want anything to do with Winter or the leadup after this one.

Roll on Summer!

Great place Jack! I was going to say something about if you'd do a little more logging, there'd be fewer leaves to rake...but figured against it.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Is the Autumn worth the Winter? My little sister went to school in Maine, and I went to see her when the snow was deep. Having grown up in AZ, I'm not sure I could handle all of that shoveling and warming up the car! LOL

Seriously, beautiful place you've got there.
