This year?

Celebrity Tomatoes
Green Beans
Cucumbers
Yellow Straight Neck Squash
Zucchini
Jalapenos
Tabasco

Chives & Sage in a small pot and of course the Blueberry Bushes.

Right now a very small garden and I'm giving almost 1/2 the space to the Squash and Zucchini.

Traveling a fair amount the next few months so the usual tomatoes, eggplant and cubanelle's are not on the agenda.

Rosemary, mint, basil and scallion always planted at my house - travel or not.

Any tips you guys can spare would be great. This is my first year with multiple fruiting plants. Since my grandfather has passed (1997) this is the first time I am planting in a bigger scale. He used to help me.

I have good luck with tomatoes by digging about 18-inches down with a posthole digger, then laying a shellcracker or bluegill in the bottom of the hole. I fill it up with Miracle Grow garden soil and keep it almost saturated with water all season. Works for corn, beans-everything.

Thanks Dusty!

My grandfather used to use sardines or other small fish he caught on the dock. Unfortunately I don't have access to an ocean like I used to. Would fish meal be about the same? We used Miracle Grow last year on a test grow of about 5 plants and I couldn't get the mixture right and we ended up with about 7 tomatos. Right now I have about 30 blossoms and I did dig deaper than I did the last time (about 9 inches).

If i get to pesky say so

What's wrong with white cow composted manure? Or Brown cow? Or maybe white and black spotted cow manure? What about horses?

We can't even grow grass in our yard. The dogs rip it all up.

The weather has been so….unspring-like (I’m being politically correct here) in Michigan that I don’t even have anything in the ground yet.
However, eventually there will be:
Blue Lake green beans (if I can keep the rabbits out of them)
Big Boy tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes
Bell peppers
Jalapeno peppers
Burpless hybrid cucumbers
Mint
Chives
Oregano
Thyme
Basil
Flat leaf (Italian) parsley
Cilantro
And instead of sunflowers (which proved irresistible to the rabbits) perhaps I will try hollyhocks in the back. Of course, marigolds around everything for insect control.
