Yemeni Man Attempts to Enter Cockpit of Commercial Flight
According to the article, his nationality is unknown, but he holds a Yemeni passport.
Quote:
SAN FRANCISCO - Crew members and passengers wrestled a 28-year-old man to the cabin flood (sic) after he began pounding on the cockpit as an American Airlines flight was approaching San Francisco, the third security incident in a day on U.S. planes, authorities said Monday...
The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Rageit Almurisi. He carried a Yemeni passport but his nationality wasn't immediately known, Rodriguez said.

Possible probing? Or just coincidence? Another incident from the linked article.
"During the afternoon, a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Chicago diverted in St. Louis after a 34-year-old man from Illinois tried to open a plane door during the flight, officials said."

DENVER (CBS4) – Four people were arrested after a suspicious incident at Denver International Airport.
The incident happened Saturday morning at the south end security checkpoint. Airport personnel noticed someone videotaping the security lines. Police then confronted the person with the camera and the three people in line who were being taped. Two of those people did not have IDs or boarding passes.
Police arrested the man with the camera and the three people in line. Police say they don’t know what the group was doing. They were arrested on suspicion of interfering with a transportation facility.
Security was stopped for a few minutes and police conducted a security sweep but didn’t find any problems.

Conjecture isn't usually beneficial, but in this case the influx of events seems to be more than coincidental.
Response times from first move to the cockpit door? Response time of arrest in security line at onset of videotaping operation?
Seems like distraction testing at the very least.

Agree with your statement on conjecture - my intent was to keep thread moving with additional examples.
Looks like we have them.
I also found it interesting that regarding the Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Chicago - the man's age was known and reported - but silent with respect to other details. Like which mosque he attended.

A little more detail on the incident where a Yemeni man attempted to 'storm' the cockpit of an American Airlines flight.
Quote:
Fellow passenger Andrew Wai of San Francisco told CBS5 that Almurisi seemed fidgety throughout the flight.
“He had been yelling ‘Allah Akbar’ running down the aisle and then either him of passengers started yelling go, go, go,” Wai said...
At the time of his arrest, Almurisi was in possession of a Yemeni passport as well as a California identification card, Rodriguez said...
But Almurisi’s cousin, who has the same name, said his cousin moved from Yemen to Vallejo last year, then to New York City, but he is not a terrorist.
“He probably just didn’t like the way he was being treated on the plane. Or it could have been anything,” said Almurisi’s cousin. “He might have even had a panic attack. I hope he’s okay.

Let someone start running down the isle yelling like that when I'm on a plane and I'll show him a solution to his panic attack for sure. With actions like that he's asking for a TOTAL ass whooping if not more.

When I'm "treated badly" on a plane I usually respond by making acerbic comments to the flight attendant, keeping her or him off balance with my rapier-like wit, followed up by letters and phone calls to the airline when I get home.
Never considered storming the cockpit.

What Happened on AA Flight 1561
What Happened on AA Flight 1561
http://townhall.com/columnists/miche...aa_flight_1561
"If you listen to the passengers and crew who flew on American Airlines Flight 1561 last weekend, there's no doubt about what happened on their harrowing trip: A Yemeni man shrieking "Allahu akbar!" at the top of his lungs more than 30 times rushed the cockpit door twice intending to take down the plane and kill everyone on board.
The clammy, sweaty lone male passenger exhibited classic symptoms of what Middle East scholar and author Daniel Pipes has dubbed "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" -- a seemingly random outbreak of threatening behavior or violence by a hysterical Muslim adherent who had not previously exhibited signs of Islamic radicalization. It took at least four men to tackle and restrain Rageh Ahmed Mohammed al-Murisi. "There was no question in everybody's mind that he was going to do something," passenger Angelina Marty told the San Francisco Chronicle.
And no, that "something" did not mean enlisting his fellow flyers in a midair flash mob performance of the "Hallelujah Chorus."..........................."
&
"...........On Wednesday, a San Francisco judge denied al-Murisi bail. Unburdened by the paralyzing prissiness of political correctness, federal prosecutors noted that "Allahu akbar" was the same refrain invoked by the 9/11 hijackers over Shanksville, Pa., and by the would-be Christmas Day bomber over Detroit. Not to mention Fort Hood jihadist Nidal Hasan, the Frankfurt, Germany, jihadist who killed two U.S. airmen on a bus in March, the young Portland, Ore., Christmas tree lighting bomb plotter, every last suicide bomber across Europe, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East, and every last evil al-Qaida beheader broadcast on video over the past decade................"

Wasn't there an Air Marshall program instituted some time ago? Did they quit using them?
