This should be in the Gourmet Guerrilla Comedy Zone, but there ain’t one…yet.
Saturday night we went to dinner at a long time friend’s house. She is Scottish and used to work for Overseas National Airlines (ONA). FOG’s should remember.

We’ve been going there for dinner every few months for several years. (Did I mention that she’s Scottish?) I dread these dinners more than root canals. I’M SERIOUS!
She served pork pieces boiled in sauerkraut with mashed potatoes. She forgot the gravy.
I almost always add a bit more salt, at the table, than we cook with. I like more and my wife likes less. We have a bowl of kosher salt in the kitchen that we use when cooking. We also have one on the table because the shaker clogged up.
At Saturday’s dinner I kept adding salt from their salt bowl to my meal. It didn’t help, so I kept adding more. Nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. It was getting sweeter. It was a sugar bowl. One of the better meals I’ve had there.
