Quote of the Day
"If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you're not a racist.....
....you'll have to vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you're not an
idiot

The question is who on the Republican side will be an appealing candidate. I have this very awful feeling that Obama will be reelected again.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."
Wish I knew who to credit this with but I do appreciate the importance of it.

I didn't vote for Bush either.
I voted against Gore and Kerry (and Obama).
Lesser of the evils, as it were.

Let's hope the conservatives come up with a viable candidate. William F. Buckley once said, "The conservatives have to come up weith the best candidate that can be elected."

Would Gen. Petraeus make a viable candidate for the Republican party (maybe not 2012, but 2016)? As far as leadership is concerned, he seems most qualified to take up the mantle.

Question?
Question should be, can a person really lead if they have never walked in the shoes?

Whoever the conservative candidate is, that person will have to run as a Republican. A split ticket will result in four more years of Obama. So far, the list is uninspiring...

You mean like a freshman Senator whose career was as a community organizer?
Unless it is a reelection, no one has walked in those shoes. But some have a damn sight more experience in elected office and leadership positions than others.
