A salute to the Best.
You new guys in Group are the best. This country is
proud of you and what you are doing and have accomplished.
I consider it an honor to be on this forum, and wish you
all God speed and safety In Harms Way.
Feel a little introduction is in order. Joined SF in 1962
and remained in Group untill 1973 and my retirement.
Retired as an E8 and served in many assignments, such
as Instructor Commel Dept, 8th SFGA Panama, 5th SFGA
RVN, very short stays with the 3rd and 6th SFGA enroute to
a job with the Jumpmaster committee in IMA. Was NCOIC of
the Commel Dept prior to my retirement. Attended HALO in
1963 and O&I in 1970/71. Enough of this boring stuff. I
never met a man in SF that I did'nt like. Once again you
guys are the best and the cream of the crop. Honor,Duty,
Country.

Welcome aboard Patrick.

Thank you Patrick and welcome aboard.
As a former 5th Gp SF soldier in the early eighties I like to think we were taught by the best, the SF Vietnam Vets!

TS: perhaps the operative word is "WERE". We were the best at what we did at that time. Times and missions change and the new troopers are the best at what they are doing now. Hell, I don't think I can even ride a foogin camel.
I sometimes worry that today's recruits think that they are joining a pentathalon or orienteering team but I think the likes of The Reaper and the rest of the training committee dispel that rapidly.
