Special Forces Green Berets show off skills
Special Forces Green Berets show off skills

"For decades, the Green Berets have been the quiet professionals of Fort Bragg, spiriting away to war zones to conduct covert operations or working with foreign governments to train commandos to fight drug cartels, communist rebels and terrorists................"
Nice little story for your morning enjoyment.

Now there's a good dog!!
Quote:
Sgt. 1st. Class Ignacio Estrada, a Special Forces canine handler, described how important the Green Berets' dogs are to finding hidden improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. Whenever a dog finds an explosive, it's rewarded with a toy or a small treat.
To underscore his point, Estrada described a recent deployment to Afghanistan where his dog discovered a deadly IED in a roadway. As the dog continued to search the area, he found a second explosive that was meant to hit incoming rescuers. Farther up the road, the dog sniffed out a third booby trap.
"That night, I gave him a steak," Estrada said.

DOC,
Yeap and that Texas Sun has gotten to your head again. Take your meds
It is a SF NCO that has gone to Canine handler course and then goes to or really gets his dog while at the course and they work together for sometime. Then they come back to their Group and deploy with there BN. It is a Ten times better system than getting a borrowed dog from some sister service. It's not a NEW MOS, just a new ASI for the NCO.
I just wished that we got EOD tech within each BN. Guys outisde of Group, you have to "Train up" at a fire base while doing missions.
Nice to see USASFC getting more of the Community involed with SF. I know we have always done it. While I was at SWC I think there was something a Quarter, but never in the paper. Only time SF was in the FAYOBS was somethng bad hit the news.
Job well done Guys!!
