SOD Gates Candor

My Brother sent this, it is taken from an article in today's New York Times.

'Even for a particularly outspoken defense secretary, Mr. Gates has reached a new level of candor. Perhaps he feels liberated by the fact that he is retiring soon and leaving Washington, a city, he has said, “where so many people are lost in thought because it’s such unfamiliar territory.”'

Here's a link to the entire article, which is definitely worth the read - http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/05/world/05gates.html

From the article- "He sharply criticized members of the House of Representatives this week for spending money on Humvees that the Army did not want instead of buying surveillance systems needed to protect troops. " ( The "surveillance systems" are designed to detect IED's- certainly we don't need that!)

Let's name a name- Floridian C.W. Bill Young, a Pinellas County Republican who recently became chairman of the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee.

This is a NYT article. Obviously biased toward the left wing, nearly 100% of the time since pre-WWII.

I don't believe a word from that rag as the unbiased, unalterated truth until it's been verified.
