Flash Bang Death

It had to be right by his head when it went off. I used some of the most powerful FB out there. They don't kill unless it was right next to his head. Or he was alone and bled to death.
Before anyone asks. It's common practice for SWAT Cops to bring everything home with them including Bang's. No different then a Cop taking his gun home. I worked with these guys before. They are squared away.

Wow, thats a shame to die like that. I hope it was a faulty bang. I just hope he didnt catch the pin of something of that nature. That is no way to go out. Especially if he bled out.

I read that story the other day

I read that story the other day.

It got me scratching my head. End of the day, in the garage and putting away his stuff? All I could think of is it went off and he fell over and hit his head.

But as you say - if it was about 1 foot from his face as he stuffed gear in a cubby.....

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

It takes a conscious effort to set one of these off. Just like an M60. You just cant do it by mistake. Only thing that comes to mind is removing safety devices and straightening pins. I always kept the back of my vest at the top of my kit Bag. First thing I would see when opening it. Were The condition of the bangs.
I'm sure the investigation results will be shared with the LEO world to help prevent it from happening again.

It could have been a Def-tec 25 which has an issue of the fuse separating from the body. That's the reason why we switched from Def-tec to CTS.

I knew Fred personally.

And no, it was not right by his head. He did not die from head trauma.

I will post more later. It has been a very long, sad day.

Blue skies brother.
