SF guy writes new book MI VIDA

Anybody know this guy? Joseph Nathaniel Harris
Got alot of generic SF/ranger stuff up on his FB page website.
Claims service w/ 7thSFGA 12th gp, ranger bn .. I guess this book is about his life and trying to bring attention to undeclared war in Central america. Claims 100% disabled PTSD from service during that time?
I haven't read it. was wondering if this guy is legite as several innocent inquiries have turned up some very concerning anomlies in his story.
I'm in the skeptical camp and i know there are guys on here who will set me straight if this guy turns out to be the real deal.
Chow line is Open!

I've no idea who this guy is but we're receiving request after request to find out who he is....

He's written a book, which opens him up to public scrutiny.

Let's find out who he is.....

Please feel free to post his "claims".

Well dam! If they had the internet 40 years ago I would have known that I didn't ever have to work for a living and just claimed full PTSD and laid in bed or gone hunting everyday. I feel like such an idiot to have spent so much of my life working.

Question

Mr. Harris's resume, available here, is interesting in that his career progression appears to go backwards. Also, his list of accomplishments seems to have grown between 4 September 2010 (the date he posted his resume) and January 2011 <<LINK>>.

SAN JOSE – LAWFUEL - The Law News Wire - United States Attorney Scott N. Schools announced that Joseph Nathaniel Harris, 44, now living in Riverside, California, pled guilty yesterday to stealing computer equipment in March 2005 from the San Jose Medical Group, including a DVD with sensitive medical and personal information for almost 200,000 patients in the San Jose area. FBI agents recovered the DVD from Harris’ car in April 2005.

According to a criminal complaint affidavit and indictment filed earlier with the court as well as Harris’ guilty plea today, Harris was branch manager at the San Jose Medical Group, a medical services organization that includes hundreds of affiliated physicians in the South Bay. Harris left the San Jose Medical Group in September 2004. On March 28, 2005, employees discovered computer equipment missing from the San Jose Medical Group administrative office, including a DVD with clinic visit entries for almost 200,000 patients. The DVD included patients’ names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, social security numbers, diagnoses, medical procedures, and other information. Harris kept the DVD but sold the computer equipment. FBI agents found the DVD in Harris’ car.

The indictment charges Mr. Harris with one count of theft in connection with health care, in violation of 18 U.S.C.§ 669. Today, before United States District Court Judge Jeremy Fogel, Harris pled guilty to this charge, admitting that he stole computer equipment from the San Jose Medical Group, including the DVD.

Judge Fogel has scheduled sentencing for Harris for September 5, 2007. The maximum statutory penalty for this count is 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or twice the gain or loss resulting from the theft (whichever is greater), three years supervised release, and restitution. However, any sentence following conviction would be imposed by the court after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and the federal statute governing the imposition of a sentence, 18 U.S.C. § 3553.

Assistant United States Attorney Matthew A. Lamberti is prosecuting the case, with the assistance of legal assistant Susan Kreider. The prosecution is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Medical group manager gets prison for stealing patients' records
October 10, 2007|By John Cote, Chronicle Staff Writer

(10-09) 12:42 PDT SAN JOSE - A former branch manager at the San Jose Medical Group has been sentenced to almost two years in prison for stealing medical records for about 187,000 patients, federal prosecutors said today.

Joseph Nathaniel Harris, 44, pleaded guilty in May to one count of health care-related theft after he stole computer equipment from his former employer, including a DVD that contained patients' names, Social Security numbers, medical diagnoses and other information, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Harris was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in San Jose to 21 months in prison and three years of supervised release. Judge Jeremy Fogel also ordered him to pay $145,154 in restitution.

Harris, now an Anaheim resident, was directed to begin his sentence Jan. 4.

Harris worked as the branch manager of the San Jose Medical Group's McKee clinic at 227 Jackson Ave. in August and September 2004, court records said.

During that time, "there were several incidents of reported theft of money and medications," according to an affidavit by FBI Agent Deborah Amrhein. "Because of these suspicions, (CEO Ernie) Wallerstein asked Harris to resign. ... Harris complied."

On March 28, 2005, employees discovered computer equipment was missing from the medical group's administrative office, including a DVD with clinic visit entries and detailed information for 187,000 patients in the South Bay, prosecutors said.

Harris kept the DVD but sold the stolen computer equipment, prosecutors said. FBI agents later found the DVD in Harris' car. He was charged in January 2006 with the theft.

During his employment at the medical group, Harris "bragged to fellow employees of his experience as a Green Beret, in military security and about his side business selling used computers," Amrhein wrote in the affidavit.

After Harris resigned, there were six burglaries at three San Jose Medical Group offices. Amrhein also reported that Harris had been fired from a 2003 job at the Silicon Valley Children's Fund for conducting personal business, including selling computers on Craigslist, on company time.

After he was fired from that job, there was a burglary at the Children's Fund offices and two computers were stolen, according to court documents.

I was reading his book located here:

http://books.google.com/books?id=lBj...r%2018&f=false

I read Chapter 18 De Oppresso Liber (p 124) about SFTG and Chapter 19 David (Was A goliath) (p 129) about his being in confinement at Fort Irwin after being busted to PV2, and then being rescued by a "sergeant major Franklin" of the 7th SFG and whisked off in a C-141 to "Central America - home of the Sandanistas, FNLM, and Shining Path guerrillas."

I'll try to read some more as soon as I can stop laughing.

29 Apr 09:

Interviewed at the State Dept of Rehabilitation for a senior vocational counselor position. IT WENT SUPER WELL!
---

The article regarding the sentencing stated 21 months in prison, starting OCT 2007. That 29 Apr tweet was within that 21 months. Interviewing for a state job from prison? I guess it is CA...

Note: Age on article matches the age on his bio.

Something's screwy either way.
