Need a little help with Arabic writing translation...

I'm making a shadow box frame of some things from my OIF tour. However, I do not remember what the writing says on 2 of my items. I'm sure the terp told me at the time, but I didn't write it down like I should have. I've attached pictures of the items, can anyone tell me what the writing says? This time I'll be writing it down and putting it on the shadow box.

If I am reading correctly, the patch says

On top: The seven (meaning possibly: 7th)

Bottom: Regiment of peace.

I'm having a little trouble with the clarity of writing and dots on the coin....

I have a larger photo of it, its about 4MB though and this site will only let me upload a 1MB pic. I know its a ba'ath party insignia, but that's about all I remember from it.
