Once a Mosque always a Mosque
Once a Mosque always a Mosque
"India Ayodhya mosque ruling on Thursday"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-11425834
The time line is here....
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/1844930.stm
Notice this goes back to 1526. The key question is "Was there a Hindu temple there before the Mosque was built?"
Whatever the judgment the "other side" will not be happy.

Since Islam did not start until well after Christ, does this mean Islam forfeits the right to the land of the Temple Mount, or is this just some Sharia thing?

"...The massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks; more extensive even than the slaughter of the South American native populations by the invading Spanish and Portuguese...."

BigJim, that has always been my thinking. But THEY claim it as a holy site. It irks me to no end!!!

More of a one of the world's most complex real estate deals sort of thing not lending itself to a proverbial Gordian Knot solution by an Alexander - Jerusalem is:
To the Jews - their national and spiritual epicenter, the incarnation of ancient Israel, the place where Abraham went to sacrifice Isaac, the site of David's glory and Solomon's temple, the eternal capital of the Jewish people.
To the Christians - the city where Jesus spent his last days on Earth, the site of the last supper (which is located outside the existant walls built by Suleiman) in the group of structures which include King David's tomb, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.
To the Muslims - al Quds, the site where Muhammad is said to have ascended to Heaven on his steed and the third holiest site of Islam.
To me - a fascinating place in which I would enjoy living and studying for the remainder of my life...but real estate there is " costly."
And so it goes...

I have come to believe, the more vehement the protest from Islam, the more likely that whatever they are whining about, is the right thing to do....

It's sad how the world sits idly by on their hands while the waqf authority destroys priceless Jewish artifacts in a effort to erase evidence tying the Jews to their most Holy site.

Ahmad Muhammad 'Arafa, a columnist for the Egyptian weekly Al-Qahira, which is published by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, wrote an article rejecting the established Islamic doctrine that the Prophet Muhammad's celebrated "Night Journey" (Koran 17:1) took him from Mecca to Jerusalem. 'Arafa, presenting a new analysis of the Koranic text, asserts that the Night Journey in Surat Al-Isra' (that is, "the Sura of the Night Journey") in the Koran does not refer to a miraculous journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, but to the Prophet's emigration (Hijra) from Mecca to Medina.

It's interesting to note that Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Qur'an, not even once, whereas the Bible mentions Jerusalem more than 800 times. Considering Islam touts itself as an Abrahamic faith, doesn't that seem a bit odd ?
It's also a bit odd that Islam adopted/hijacked from the Mandaeans & Harranians, the ritual of Ramadan, the prayers, and the ablution before each prayer, that were originally Mandaean / Harranian rites.....a whole lotta hijacking going on....

Divided three ways
India holy site 'split between Hindus and Muslims'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-11441890
".......However in a majority verdict, judges gave control of the main disputed section, where a mosque was torn down in 1992, to Hindus, lawyers said.
Other parts of the site will be controlled by Muslims and a Hindu sect......"
I don't think this is going to make anyone happy.

That's a good decision, then. Everybody leaves equally unhappy!
I practice this methodology when forced to referee petty disputes between my two boys. They have come to realize that once I get involved, the behavior that is causing the problem WILL stop, but both will leave unhappy with my solution to the problem.
