White House Insider on Obama: “the President is Losing It.”

Interesting item. True? Unknowable, perhaps. But maybe it explains some things and suggests future developments.

LINK

Excerpt:
A longtime Washington D.C. insider, and former advisor to the Obama election campaign and transition team, speaks out on an administration in crisis, and a president increasingly withdrawn from the job of President.

Nmap, funny you should mention this.

I was speaking about this with a psychiatrist friend and comparing notes during lunch yesterday.

Why do I get the impression that I'm going to live in really interesting times?

History in the making!

When we hit our advanced senior years, maybe we will be interviewed by the local paper about the "bad old days" and how everyone got through it somehow.

interesting times

Nmap,

my friend I hope you never see interesting times. IIRC the ancient Chinese curse goes in order of increasing severity,

May you live in interesting times,

May you come to the attention of those in authority,

May you find what you seek.

The POTUS is losing it? I didn't realize he actually had it?

nmap,

Great post my friend! I am not at all suprised to read account of life in the "inner circle" of obama. The view inside the White House when carter was POTUS was much different from the one projected. I expect all stories from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. are interesting, I simply find this current White House to be less suprising. I never bought into the,"towering intillect" or "gifted speaker" mind set about obama. His record in the Senate was weak. His record outside the Senate has been weak, with many gifts from supporters.

I heard an interesting a comment by Rush Limbaugh yesterday. In his radio show, michelle obama was credited with saying that she hates the job of First Lady. Limbaugh went on to point out that Mrs. obama found the task very difficult. This dovetails pretty well with what the article points out. I think it is safe to observe that the obamas are really out of their element; whatever that is.

We do live in interesting times. Our nation has seen many hardships and come out the other side stronger for the challenge. I am optimistic that we will do the same again following the obama debacle. The facade of omaba is thin and the crush of office will strip all that away in time, IMHO. Thank the Lord for Fox News! If nothing else, it has caught the attention of obama.

Be well!

Nmap, did it strike you as odd that the insider would paint a picture of O like this and then say how handily he would beat Sarah Palin or Romney? I guess he thinks if they could be fooled once ........ oh he might be right

Or, perhaps, at least one of those two people are perceived much like Obama, but from a different part of the political spectrum.

The Republicans MUST find a potential candidate who can beat Obama, and start the preparations and grooming NOW.

That candidate is not Romney, and it sure as hell is not Palin! Run Palin against Obama, and that wimp will win the West Wing of the White House again, and woe is we.

MOO... YMMV

if that's an accurate profile of o and flotus and considering their slide might not have bottomed out yet who's betting he'll run?

The Democrats will have to drag him away kicking and screaming. He is SO full of himself that he would never see any failing as HIS failing.

I think it will be interesting to watch what the Dems do, IF the Republicans find a good candidate and put him out there just after the mid-terms. (I say "he" because I don't really see any remotely viable female candidates within the Republican ranks at this time. It sure isn't "Stumble, Mumble, and Fumble Governor Jan Brewer! )

Possibly Chritie from NJ? Sure he needs to lay off the Ho-Hos but least he's not afraid to take on the entrenched special intrests of his state.

W tells anyone within earshot how glad he is to be out of Washington and back home in Texas.

Well...yes and no. First, I may as well disclose my bias - I intend to vote against the POTUS. Therefore, it doesn't much matter who or what the opposition runs. That's the mirror image of those who voted against "W", of course....

On the one hand the insider's bias will tend to make him believe that the Democrat party must surely win. He states his belief that Obama is smart, then at the same time states that Obama is slow. He gives examples which tend to undermine his view of Obama as a smart individual. I suspect it would be more accurate to say that Obama is a talented orator - but that is not the same as smart. I make this point to suggest that the insider is letting his personal hopes color his conclusions.

But there is the other hand. Romney looks presidential, sounds presidential - perhaps he's a good choice. I would not have a problem voting for him. However, my understanding is that he's Mormon. And, according to my limited understanding, there are some Mormon beliefs that diverge from the mainstream. Purely my opinion, but I suspect the Democrats would go negative, and do so quickly. Mr. Romney's religion would, I strongly suspect, be used against him. I think it would work. Obama would come off as the more normal, more rational man - at least, after all the attack ads.

And Sarah Palin? I think she has good political instincts, and also the "eye of the tiger" ... meaning she wants to win and is willing to fight it out. Although I don't suppose I would accuse her of being a super-genius, I do suspect that she's reasonably bright and capable....and with the right cabinet, could govern well. That said, she's got a family that is all too easily targeted with attack ads and whispers about her special-needs child and her daughter. She resigned the governorship - in my opinion, for good reasons - but it will be used against her. And, she's had some moments that suggest she is prone to verbal gaffes and may not be too good at thinking on her feet.

All of the above....MOO, YMMV! I emphasized the two potential candidates' negatives. Of course they have positives - but for the purposes of discussion I focused on what might hurt them in a campaign.

Still, if we assume a strong negative campaign...and Obama plays to his skill of campaigning and oratory...and the new congress has the Republicans playing into his hands....then the insider just might be right.
