What's the best excuse or reason contact couldn't be made?

I also suspect being surrounded by bad guys would rank right up there...
Frequencies unsuitable for the distance is one I lived with...rear detachment at Devens could hear us 5x, but from where we were in Holland to the SFOB at Sculthorpe, we were not doing so well...FOBs in Italy and Norway were picking us up...

My MRAP was on its side and the SATCOM antenna was pointed the opposite direction from the look angle.
