What were they thinking?
Police: Officer Baited In Altercation That Injured Him
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/24453132/detail.html
"...Sgt. Matthew Grimes was asked to give a presentation to a church audience on July 24 at Municipal Gardens, in the 1800 block of Lafayette Road......"
then
"....During the presentation, an altercation broke out in the crowd, and Grimes intervened. The officer was thrown to the ground and drew his Taser, ready to stun one of the people involved, police said......"
And then the WTF moment
"....James Harrington, pastor of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, said he set up the scenario to test a white officer's reaction to a fight between two black men......"
I can only shake my head.

Unfortunately, the officer wasn't one of the "actors".
What's next a faux convenience store hold up?

Maybe he would have been happier if a real fight had broken out and the officer had stood by while they killed one another.
TASERS are non-lethal, and are point, not area weapons, like OC can be.
Refuse to follow the officer's commands, and you should ride the lightning.
I think the cops should stop serving the good pastor, and let him and his racist flock fend for themselves.

Really? How does instilling racism and assaulting a LEO condition children toward safety? What if somehow his gun went off in the scuffle and a kid was shot?
IMHO a better test would the effects of a tasers on a racist pastors...
Or haul the pastor down to the drunk tank for the night for inciting violence, and bring the kids to the station to watch, this would teach them be safe and never do something stupid enough to get arrested?

I could not have said it better.

It appears that Officer Grimes reacted to what he perceived was a clear-cut and substantial violation of the penal code. So they proved he was doing his job, at least according to my understanding of the code.
Can't have that, now, can we?

Shouldn't pastor Harrington be facing a few charges right now?
