Enola man killed at Cumberland County shooting range

Ive attempted a search under the keywords I thought were applicable. If Im duplicating a thread, please remove.

Hope this isnt becoming a Pa. Trend. The man that was murdered was killed "from a distance" according to police. He was an attorney, and the weapon was supposedly "highly modified" and converted to full auto.

and from the Western part of Pa.

I am already on the lookout when I'm at the range, just because people I don't know with loaded firearms around me make me nervous.

Especially because the range I go to is full of "good ole' boys" who like to sit around and drink in the clubhouse.

But some tips that I usually follow to stay safe at the range where I go.

Take the lane furthest away. I always take the last lane if its available.
Keep your carry weapon on you even at the range.
If there is an unknown shooter on the range I wait until they are going to swap targets and walk down at the same time.
We have covered benches with a wall behind them I make sure my back is to that wall.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I'd rather not turn into a news story, just because I went to the range.

Great, after years of being stuck behind enemy lines in NJ I finally escape to Pa only to find that people are getting whacked at ranges.
