What would you do?

This is kind of an interesting video and kind of representational of modern urban life:http://vimeo.com/12623919

I think the victim made a major mistake in not attempting to call 911 immediately. I also believe the so called "security" guards were either incompetent, cowards or complicit.

I think there is a high probability that if he would have dialed 911 Mr. Toofies would have tried to stop him. At that point or when he started walking into the victim, you'd be free to escalate and that nice tat on his throat appears an almost perfect target.

What do you think?

If it is actually true....He just happened to have a camcorder, and he went out to confront the perp stealing his bike while filming. That is just moronic in so many ways, bringing a camera to a fist fight...You never know, it could have been a knife or gun fight you were entering.

The camera guy looked to have had a oppourtunity to grab his bike and possibly leave, but he pressed the issue.

To some degree he deserved what he got.

Bikes can replaced, you face or life can't be.

If he had called an officer, the officer could have checked the backpack. If the lock was in it, as alleged, that would have been proof enough for the perp to take a ride to jail. Camera dude should have just made Thugster eat his fronts.

Move on

The camera operator was a jackass. Perhaps he should have simply taken the opportunity to leave with his bike unscathed. If he wants police assistance, he can call it in himself and wait calmly until they arrive, and then point out the thug who cut his chain. He instead drew unnecessary attention to himself and more or less acted like he wanted a fight.

I thought it was interesting that he wanted to call the police in order to be reimbursed for a $3 combo lock instead of to get the thug off the street for attempting to steal his possessions and threatening to beat him up.

Those types won't think twice about shooting you or stabbing you.

My impression was the 2 guys with the tats, talking to the doorman, they were checking progress, distracting the doorman and hindering his view while Fitty Cent chopped the lock.

If anything I think that second video is a fake.

If I was the guy in the first one I would have definately busted him in the mouth. Even though the so called loss prevention guy would have been all over me then I'm sure.
